Waste Removal

Silverdale Borough utilizes Republic Services for Trash and Recycled Waste disposal.  Republic  is an industry leader that provides responsible waste disposal and waste recycling.   All residents of the Borough must use our contracted Trash Hauler.  If you are a business and or a commercial property and would like to use a separate trash hauler, please contact the Borough office, otherwise you will be billed for Borough Trash service(Republic).

Silverdale Borough's sewer service and waste water disinfection is provided by Pennridge Waste Water Treatment Plant.  The Pennridge Waste Water Treatment Plant, PWTA, provides advanced treatment of wastewater to the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek. PWTA serves Silverdale, Hilltown, East Rockhill, Perkasie, Telford and Sellersville.  

 

Trash and Recycling pickup is scheduled for Wednesdays.  Please be advised that when inclement weather falls on the day of trash pick up, trash will be removed the following day.

Holiday Date Residential Status

Labor Day Monday, September 7, 2026 One day delay

REMINDER If a Holiday falls on Monday,  Tuesday  or Wednesday your trash will be picked up a day late that week. This is Republics policy.

 

Trash (Residential)

Trash service is $95 per quarter. 

1st Quarter-January, February, March

2nd Quarter-April, May, June

3rd Quarter-July, August, September

4th Quarter-October, November, December

Sewer (Residential)

Sewer EDUs fee is $95 per quarter per EDU.  The sewer quarterly billing dates are the same as the trash dates.  Please note that the trash and sewer are provided in the same invoice.  

If purchasing a new EDU, you must notify the Borough office to apply.

Leaf Vacuuming

Our Leaf vacuuming service will be out on Thursday, December 4, 2025 for our 2nd Leaf Vacuuming.  Please do not have cars parked in the street during this time.  Have all leaves piled along the curb of your property.  Leaf vacuuming signs will be put up as a reminder.

 

FALL FIRE SAFETY TIPS

Smoke Detectors:

  • Please remember to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.
  • Clean and dust cobwebs from around the cover to let air flow inside.
  • Push the test button once a month to make sure the detector is working properly.

Snow Removal

Snow and ice must be removed from residents' sidewalks within 24 hours after snow fall.  This is required by Ordinance No. 285.  

Please park all cars in the driveway during a snowstorm so that our plow services can get through the streets with ease.  This is also required by Borough Ordinance No. 261.

SNOW BLOWING

When using a snow blower or shoveling, please be courteous and do not put the snow onto the Borough streets.  This makes it difficult for motorists.
